What Can You Expect from Peace
or Pain Counseling?
Science-Based, Therapy For Individuals and Couples, a Client-Centered Approach.
The difference is that you will have concrete tools, that you can begin using, in your life in the very first session. We will develop goals for the therapy, and every 3-4 sessions, the progress toward those goals, will be measured in a quantifiable way.
You won’t find yourself wondering after the first few sessions, ‘Where is this therapy going?’ While effective therapy relies on open communication, talking alone won’t be our sole focus. Traditional talk therapy can sometimes lead to the development of a ‘paid best friend.’
Therapy Approaches
Who is the Therapist?
My name is Clete, and you can find more about me,
in the About Me Section
Ten personal beliefs that guide my approach to therapy:
- Many mental health issues are directly related to a pervasive feeling that life has no meaning. Therapy should be more than successfully addressing problems. It should also provide you with a concrete daily plan that guides your life in the true north direction for you.
- People that suffer trauma, tend to be re-traumatized. Many also find themselves repeating the trauma. The goal in therapy is to break the cycle for you, and for any children involved.
- Many people that have been traumatized in their past, or present relationships, have a relationship with a Borderline Personality (BP), or Narcissistic Personality (NP). It takes very special skills to navigate these types of relationships. Addressing your trauma without addressing these kinds of relationships, should also be considered in any successful trauma therapy.
- Therapists should provide a safe space for total judgment-free, exchanges. There are no subjects, ideas, or thoughts that are off-limits.
- I am not a Christian counselor – I am a counselor that is a Christian. What that means is, I am dedicated to providing the best evidenced-based mental health therapy possible. If requested, I can offer biblically-based wisdom.
- Changing your perspective, can be more powerful than changing your circumstances.
- The best gift you can give yourself and others is a life of Peace and a Peaceful Death. In order to have a Peaceful Death however, you must have a Peaceful Life to look back across.
- There is nothing wrong with you, that something right with you cannot fix.
- We all have an inner counselor. One of the therapist’s most important jobs, is to introduce you, to him or her.
- Happiness depends on happenings. Peace is the ability to deal with life successfully, no matter what the circumstances are.

Credit yourself with COURAGE today. You have taken the first and most important step towards mental freedom. If this website has proven interesting to you, please request a session using the scheduling button on this page. The idea of therapy can be scary, but imagine what your life would be like without it. If you fell down a set of stairs and broke your leg, would you wait a few weeks to see how that might turn out? Probably not. But people often treat mental health differently than physical health. The price of avoiding your mental pain could far exceed any physical issue over time. The most valuable thing you have is your time on this earth. You cannot buy it or get it back once it is ‘spent.’ Mental health problems left untreated will steal your precious time.
