Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a type of psychotherapy that helps you stay focused and accept thoughts and feelings without judgment. It aims to assist you in moving forward through difficult emotions in life so that you can channel your energy into healing rather than dwelling on them. ACT is considered a form of psychotherapy described as the ‘fourth wave’ in therapy, following cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). The primary focus of ACT is to help you transition from inflexible and unworkable thinking to thinking that is more flexible and workable in your life. Research shows that ACT can be as successful as or more successful than Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for most mental health issues
